Benefits of RSS and RSS Feed Readers
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and is most commonly used on blogs such as this one around the world. What RSS does is converts an entire blog into just text, getting rid of all the advertisements, designs, pictures, videos, and just leaving the standard blog posts in format. You can then get an RSS feed reader (I prefer Google Reader), and add the RSS feeds for all of your favorite blogs. You can also get your RSS feeds sent directly to your inbox.
Now instead of bookmarking your favorite 15-40 blogs, you can throw them all into your feed reader, and easily burn through all of the information without any lag or annoyances. If a certain article interests you, you can open it full window in which the actual blog post loads.
I predict that RSS will be the future of blogging, because standard blogs spend the majority of their money getting new visitors to their blog in hopes that they click an advertisement. This was the old school way of making money, but through RSS, the users can get all their information quickly, and the blog owners can get a visitor who returns frequently, with the potential to click much more than one advertisement.
RSS and RSS feed readers are a huge time saver, automatically setup with any WordPress blog, are great for graphing the growth of a blog, and allow you to see all of your favorite blogs in 15 minutes, rather than 50 bookmarks.
I recommend you subscribe to the RSS Feed with a feed reader, or Subscribe to Mixed Market Arts via email.
