This is just an experiment that I wanted to do. I wanted to know how many other bloggers use Google Alerts to get updated emails when other sites mention their name or their blog.

  2. Interesting test, caused several Alerts to be sent to me. I monitor other bloggers that I read on a regular basis. Reading what others have to say about those who I read is a great way to understand the impact they have on the blogosphere.

  8. Hehe, that’s some fun. I didn’t actually get alerted for this but since I got listed here http://www.rsshugger.com/binh.name and got position 9 on top 100 blogs. I saw yours on 2nd rank so I check it out.

But yes, I do use Google Alerts to check my “Binh dot Name” appear anywhere as it happen. And from that I got very interesting stats, I may end up writing a full post about proper usage of this feature soon.

And yes, I am expecting to see an alert sent to me with the URL of this page by tomorrow because I just left a comment on it.

  16. I set up an alert for Sueblimely which is part of my blog name as well as my nickname. I know my site has been mentioned and that Sueblimely shows up on many sites/blogs. No alerts have resulted in the year or so I have had the alert running? Any ideas where I may be going wrong?
