One Month Milestone

My blog is officially one month old. I have been internet marketing and building websites for over a year, but I had never done any freelance writing or blogging before, so this was an entirely new experience for me. I did not know how it would turn out, so I set my goals really low for the first month and I am happy to say I exceeded them all by over 400%. I made it a personal goal not to sell ads on the blog until it was at least a month old, but I am going to extend that rule as I do not know if I want text or image ads on the blog right now. As I stated when I started blogging, I blog to help my readers, not to make a fortune telling you to buy other people’s products. I am not a huge fan of affiliate sales and I believe my blog posts are a result of that. I have never once advertised a product that was not my own, and even with my own products I make disclaimers so everyone knows that it is one of my ventures.

I personally believe that after I build up some authority in the internet marketing niche, and once everyone knows who I am, my products will sell themselves. I try to only develop websites that benefit the customers buying them. I hate seeing people buy $50 guides on forums which just tell you to purchase a $300 tutorial or product in them. I prefer slow-launching big products (WordHugger, rssHugger) and having them grow by word of mouth and recommendations. I hate seeing a lot of people falsely promote hype in lame products because the more people they get to sign up, the more money they make.

At any rate, I would like to thank everyone who reads my blog. You are the reason I continue writing, and the reason I do not pack up all my knowledge and sell it in an oversold ebook. Although I am going back on my original announcement saying I am going to start selling ads after one month, I want everyone to know that I will start doing paid product/blog reviews.
