I think the right column is too far over to the right; like a small chasm between the ad column and the links column. The content column is now more difficult for me to read but that's ok, if others like it, then its just a matter of choice but I like varying textures as it helps break up monotony for the eye. Getting hammered with just 2 static colors of orange is going to tire the eye out pretty quickly... especially since its not so used to so much orange.
