I have heard of TNX for some time now. But, using points and PR linking is a really smart move. I don't think Google would penalize you even if you have Adsense. I don’t think Google would penalize you even if you have Adsense. See: google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=32849&topic=8425
As long as you put them in different set of colors that differentiate them from Adsense, it’s okay I guess.
