200+ links that will all be PR2-3+

For all of Mixed Market Art’s readers who are search engine optimizers or link builders… this post will surely help build your pagerank quickly and easily. I recently discovered a Linux site called the Linux Counter where they are tracking how many people are using Linux, where they are from, and a few other statistics. I was toying around with the site and signed myself up to be tracked. As a test, I signed up stating that I was located in Antarctica where only three other people had listed themselves to be shown publicly. There was no email verification to join and they even provided a search engine followed link to the URL I specified.

  2. these are all great tips colin. but some of these tips feel a bit . . . unethical? i guess all is fair in internet blogging and web traffic. are there any repercussions for using these methods to better your website? love reading your blog, so keep it up!

  4. A lot of them are unethical, yes. You can read my initial disclaimer on the main Link Building Cookbook post at the bottom of this article.

  8. Another great tip.

I wouldn’t worry about ethical here, but spam will be detected and you might loose your own hope in the future.

    Do it smartly, I suggest.

    Happy New Year 2008.

  10. Of course this abuse of other people’s resources make it more difficult to make Internet collaboration work without erecting lots of safeguards against this kind of abuse.

Thanks for making the Internet a less friendly place.

    Harald (Linux Counter maintainer).

  14. Hey,

I do very much like your series, but like the commenter above, I don’t do any of the un-ethical linking. I just don’t feel right about it. But hey, you can entertain all sorts of ideas without nessesarily doing them.

Thanks for all the great posts,

    Brad

  16. Good info on your link building cookbook. I’m going to have to set aside an hour a week or so to do some of this stuff. I didn’t see a link for you in Antartica though. Did you remove it?

  17. Collin LaHay on Thu, 31st Jan 2008 1:18 pm
  18. I sent the site so much referrer traffic from this blog that the owner visited and deleted my blog url from Antarctica. I have since stopped showing my exact links. =)

  22. I have just tried the above method but the page that actually lists my URL is PR0, is this correct?

  23. Collin LaHay on Wed, 27th Feb 2008 1:49 pm
  24. The idea is to wait until the PR update.

  26. I’ve noticed now in a couple of comment sections that you have been traced back by a few owners of the sites your recommended. Does this in anyway invalidate the benefits you get from these sections and tips?

  27. Collin LaHay on Fri, 2nd May 2008 12:29 pm
  28. By “traced back” do you mean the owners of websites that I blog about realizing that many of my readers are using their sites for link building purposes? If so, yeah lots have found out. I have removed a only one post when the owners politely emailed me asking to do so, however most of the time the websites enjoy the heaps of long term traffic, and don’t do anything to change it.

The one post I did remove deserved it though, because it was a university (.edu) with a high pagerank. While the link building was awesome from there, it was a forum built for little kids to do projects on and I agreed with the owners of the forum that they didn’t deserve a bunch of webmasters making useless forum posts in return for links, so I politely removed the link. Other than that example, all the links are still 100% useful towards link building.

If I misinterpreted your question, please explain to me what you were really asking and I will try to help.

  32. Another great link-building suggestion. These links are showing up in GWT link count. We’re hoping for a big PR boost on the next TBPR update! Thanks again…

  34. I recommend that if you are going to be using this technique, try doing a few per day on a set schedule so that Google does not penalize your site for building tons of links one day, and then very few the next few days.

I fink you can get only 1 backlink from there to your website becuas ofcours they can see that differnt accounts have the same domain name .
