Goals for 2008
The nice folks over at Daily Blog Tips have written a great blog post about setting your goals for the 2008 year. It is a group writing project and they invite everyone to join in (Before Sunday). I have decided to join in and so here are a few goals that I will hope to meet during this year:
- Reach 2000 RSS readers
- Get in the Technorati top2500
The idea behind the name
Recently a lot of people have been confused and asking why I used Mixed Market Arts as the name of my blog. I wanted to write this post to explain my reasoning just encase you have no idea what it means. The name is a word play off of the words “Mixed Martial Arts” which is a very popular combat sport in which a wide variety of fighting techniques are used. For example, it is very common to see a kick boxer fighting in an arena against a master of karate or jujitsu. Many different forms of martial arts are used such as grappling and striking.
Write for readers, not for search engines
One thing that really annoys me is KSD (keyword spamming disorder). I very rarely make HATE POSTS, so I wanted to start off saying that I absolutely love BloggingZoom, but one of the founders (Vic) is a former blackhat search engine optimizer (nothing is wrong with that) and has a new blog over at BloggerUnleashed.com.
Anyone still buy magazines?
With the dawn of the internet, more people are resorting to the web to find their daily dose of news, but for those of you whom are internet marketers and still buy print magazines, you can get a holiday discount on the Search Marketing Standard. The discount coupon code lets you sign up for one full year (4 issues) for only $4.95,
Looking for a press release writer
Ever since I have started developing and marketing websites on the internet, I have come to meet with a lot of different people who all perfect one main skill and we help each other out like a team.
New Blog Milestone – 100 RSS Subscribers
As you may have noticed on the right side of the blog, I have published my Feedburner stats. I have reached one of my bigger goals of getting over 100 subscribers. I originally hit 106 when I had a guest post at a few bigger blogs, but I wanted to wait to see if the numbers were going to jolt up and down. Well right now I can say I have over 100. I feel this is a big accomplishment because going from 0 to 100 is a lot harder than going from 1000 to 1100. The start of the blog requires the most momentum because after a blog is already big, it grows on a snowball effect. I hope I can hit 1000 in a few months from now, and when the blog turns one year old, I hope to be an “A-List” blogger. We shall see. =)
