Startup Weekend City Vote

Startup Weekend is an awesome idea invented in 2007 by Andrew Hyde. In a nutshell, the idea is to bring a bunch of small business entrepreneurs into one room, and have everyone work together to create a company in 54 hours. With a bunch of like-minded individuals, I can only imagine how many creative ideas are bounced off each other. So far there has already been eight cities that met with success, and Andrew is planning at least 10 more. Right now they are offering a “city vote” on which city gets to be the host for the next Startup Weekend, and my local city Minneapolis is one of the cities up for vote.

Feel free to vote for your own city, as I would assume this would be a great resume builder and a good experience for anyone. If you will not be participating yourself, perhaps you could do me the honors of voting for Minneapolis as the next city? — I would appreciate it.

  6. That sounds like a lot of fun. I know there are a lot of film festivals that attempt to do the same kind of thing with short movies, but why should the film geeks have all the fun?
