I am a Top Affiliate Contestant

Less than four hours after posting my plea for getting into the final 12 to be on the Top Affiliate Challenge, Thor Schrock (Owner of the Top Affiliate Challenge) messaged me on Google Talk asking if I had any plans from June 28th through July 15th. My fingers froze hovering above the keys. Normally I would have responded with something cheesy, such as, “Sorry Thor, but I will actually be in Lincoln, Nebraska during that time.” However I was so excited for what he was going to say next that I responded with a mere, “Nothing that I can’t make time for.” It was then that Thor said what I was waiting to hear; Thor responded, “Congratulations then. You are on the show.”

Whoop Whoop!

Top Affiliate Challenge will be flying me out to Lincoln, Nebraska sometime in the near future, and I will be competing with 11 other affiliate marketing contestants to become the Top Affiliate. The winner of the Top Affiliate Challenge will receive a 2 year lease to a brand new car, or they can change it for a cash option. After a brief conversation with Thor Schrock, it will either be a Dodge Nitro or a Jeep. In addition to that, Wright’s Jewelers is sponsoring a $5000 ring dubbed the “Wright’s Jewelers Immunity Ring,” to be given to a contestant to keep him from being voted off the show. [That is an educated guess, however no exact details have been given, take a guess...]

The biggest prize that the Top Affiliate of the Top Affiliate Challenge will receive is 50% of ALL affiliate earnings from all twelve contestants for all 2 weeks of the show. With guru’s like Jeremy Schoemaker, John Chow, and Ken McArthur, I have no doubt that the pool will be a very nice sum of cash.

I am so psyched for this. There is going to be a lot of competition, having twelve affiliate marketers as well as three professional judges (Jeremy Schoemaker, John Chow, and Ken McArthur). Since Thor Schrock is dedicating the show to the readers, I know it will be a learning experience to watch along as we try our hand at affiliate marketing. If Thor plays his cards right, you guys will learn almost as much as I do… however it will be tough cramming an entire days worth of experience into a 30 minute show.

One show will air each night for you guys starting on July 1st and going through July 15th. The time has not yet been confirmed, but I heard Thor say rumors that it will be around 1:00PM CST. While calling in to Thor’s interview on BlogTalkRadio, Thor said that they will not be using Youtube or Revver to play the videos, but they will be streaming the bandwidth off the Amazon.com bandwidth. this means that all the viewers will be able to see the videos in a bigger screen format, with hopefully better visual quality. There is also the option to download past episodes via the Bittorent network, which is a nice feature that many tech-savvy viewers may take part in.

    15. Congratulations – it’s nice to see some kind of affiliate activity that a person under 21 can participate in. I’m over 21 myself, but I can’t imagine how frustrating it is to be barred from all the events for so long, given how fast things move!
