Link Building Questions
I have been running this blog for nearly a year now, and over that time I have had literally hundreds of emails asking about link building or search engine optimization related questions, and many of them keep coming up over and over again.
With that being said, I feel rather than answering them over and over to each specific email, I would take the most common questions I get asked about link building and try to answer as many link building questions ask I can.
If you have any questions (from newbie to expert questions), please reply in the comments and I will answer every one of them to the best of my abilities.

I do pretty well at building links for my sites in general but I’m sure I could be more efficient. I have to intermediate questions regarding building links to a new site.
1. 1 or 2 of your favorites sites to give your new site quick link juice.
2. In the beginning do you want to build links to the homepage or internal pages in order to rank easier and faster for a specific term?
Hi, I just saw that your BANS site on super nintendo has got PR2, But it has no google backlinks. Could you explain how this happens?
Thanks,
which are the best ways to build links to the inner pages?
btw, good initiative, thanks for doing this!
ok here is my question I have site which was doing fine I got backlinks from paid dr and I got pr1 my site was index on 1st page of google and on Thursday i dont no what happen Google change his algo and i m lost i tried to figure out a alot what sort of changes google have done
but i m un able to get my site on 1st page I will really appreciate if you can give me any idea
I have pr 1 i have more then 750 links
How can I have links on .EDU sites that will not be removed?
I have a directory which pr-2 right now i want to get the page rank for internal pages too How to get that? Can u provide few tips
If you get asked many of the same questions over and over, why not create a FAQ?
Google’s backlink checker is the worst thing you can use to get an accurate backlink count…. try yahoo’s site:supernintendoconsole.com search.
Hey Colin, have you gotten your free University web page yet? I’ve been ragging on my UC Berkeley daughter to get the free web page that all UC university students are entitled to!
Nope, I read the terms of service and they were strongly against the sites I would use it for.
i run a website
but i do not know why my website pr drop from 2 to 0 last month
and i want to know how to get high pr ?
How I can get links for internal pages without link exchange and buying link per month?
Andrew, look for blogs that use the Comment Luv plugin. After you submit your comment it will automatically post your latest post below your comment which is great for deep linking.
Ok here is a question that might help a few people…What are your top 5 article submission websites?
PS How can I get that little cloud before the comment link on the blog? Is that Haloscan and Blog template?
ArticleSender.com does 1000+ submissions for only $20/month.
Do you any list of do-follow blog?
a interesting determination
thanks
How much link building should we do per month? Is there an unwritten rule that says we should do say 1000 posts linking per month? What about new sites with Pr0, how much should we do at the start and the following months?
It truly depends on the site and age, there is no easy answer.
Hey Collin,
For new clients how do you establish what the right linking mix is? What’s the right combination of link types to achieve optimal results and appear normal? I.E. Directory Submissions, Blog Comments, Forum Posts etc.
Thanks,
BRLM
That is not a question that is easily answered. Every website is different and every quote I would give is different. It depends on the site, the age, the industry, the competition, the previous work, the amount of time invested, their budget, and much more.
Tell me what you're thinking...
