Cancer Treatment asks:

1.) 1 or 2 of your favorites sites to give your new site quick link juice.

  1. Aboutus.org
  2. Run it through 10 socialmarker.com sites

2.) In the beginning do you want to build links to the homepage or internal pages in order to rank easier and faster for a specific term?

I have always been a believer in building links to both internal pages as well as the homepage, but more focused on building trust to the domain so that every page ranks higher individually.

Rakesh asks:
I just saw that your Super Nintendo Console site has got a PR2, but it has no Google backlinks, could you exlpain how this happens?

Google does not publicly display their up-to-date backlinks unless you are looking in Google Webmaster Tools. Your best bet is to use a link:supernintendoconsole.com command into a Yahoo.com search.

TheAnand asks:
Which are the best ways to build links to the inner pages?

Social media and social bookmarking websites are all very easy to use and allow for deep-linking articles of any kind. Those would be your best place to start.

Imblogger asks:
I have a site which was doing fine with paid directory backlinks and it got PR1 and was indexed on first page of Google until Google changed the algorithym and I am unable to get my site on 1st page again.

Google is constantly changing, and I cannot give you a simple reason. You have to keep writing content and building links and you will eventually see your rankings improve. Read my website marketing success post for more detail.

Almer Viloria asks:
How can I have links on .EDU sites that will not be removed?

There are many ways to find .EDU sites, here are a few quick google strings:
site:.edu [YOUR KEYWORD HERE] blog
site:.edu

  16. Very nice. I like how you’ve shown a simple way to find the edu. and gov. links. In the search I’ve already found several sites that are of interest and not just for link building.

I’ll give Social Marker another shot. I now see the advantages that I didn’t see before. I’ve been using Shareaholic for Firefox which is also convenient.

  20. Hey, thanks for the reply about your EDU situation.

That must be why the links (from .edu sites) are so valuable, because the Universities are so stringent with them!

  28. Your answer to the question about .edu sites shows some useful information about how to search for more specific terms on specific types of sites. This is quite relevant when one wants to locate a certain selection of sites that have a property they are looking for. Google’s advanced search capabilities continue to grow over time, and they keep adding items that it would be wise to get accustomed to.

  30. No you will not get penalized but many of the links will be nofollow’ed.

  34. the more links to your page the higher the pagerank, so it just gives some more than others depending what can be done must be done
