Link Building with eBooks

While browsing the web today I came across a website that had a ton of free eBooks available for download that were submitted by users. This page also had a dofollow link to the author of the eBook’s personal blog. This got me thinking that anyone could make a simple text-filled eBook with simple information about the niche that they are in, and then publish the eBook to many free ebook directories with the hopes of free traffic and links. I have not done this myself yet as the creation of the eBook may be a little bit time consuming, but it has been awhile since I have come up with any advanced link building strategies and thought I would share this one.

I did some Google research for free eBook directories, and here is the list I have come up with that you may start on:

  2. You are the man! I was searching for this the other day, but this list is much better than what I found.

  4. One more reason to develop an eBook. Incentive to join a newsletter was my main reason. Now to be able to distribute so broadly (even just for the link juice), makes this a must do.

  6. Adding “make a small 2-3 page ebook this weekend, and distribute.”

  10. Did you check this ebook directories one-by-one? What if one of it is blacklisted. I hate being penalized by google search engine.

  14. Cool list. Here’s a variation on this tactic:

    1) create series of ebooks
    2) put link in ebook to the mother ship where the rest of the ebooks live
    3) distribute ebooks

You won’t get any PR, sure, but you should get some traffic.

Make sure you state that you do not want your content rebranded / reseller rights given away.

  20. Another great idea from one of the all time SEO Masterminds…….my site would never have made PR 4 without The Link Building Cookbook from Collinlahay.com!
