Link Building with 404 Pages
You don’t see Google giving out many link building tips of their own, but that is indeed where this little information nugget came from. Matt Cutts from Google has a post about how Google Webmaster Tools shows your incoming 404 pages (people who link to a page on your site that doesn’t exist, such as CollinLaHay.com/boogers58125/), and how Google Webmaster Tools will show you which pages are sending these links, so you can contact them to quickly fix the link.
Well, Matt Cutts can explain it further, so head on over to his post and take a look for yourself. I only had one fixable link to CollinLaHay.com, but thats still better than nothing and you may or may not have a lot more.

Thanks for the heads up Collin. I’m going to read the rest of the article now.
Thanks again!
Good advice! I will check all mine.
I’ve always taken my highest 404 pages, created the page, and directed it to my main index page.
Great advice (especially in my line of business), I will check all of mine.
Ahh.. Something and interesting. I was wondering I never knew that 404 pages can be a link building method too. Great advise and thanks a million!

yeah! you can check 404 pages then quickly add some anchor text over that page.
