Link Building with Instructables

How-to content, such as tutorials on how to build or create stuff has always been in the top most popular search items. There are literally millions of things you could search on “how to _insert words here_”, and that is why sites like eHow, Wikihow, and others have become so popular.

Today, I have come across a website called Instructables. Instructables is a community powered web2.0 website that allows anyone to register a free account and submit “how-to” articles on any topic they choose.

Instructables is great because it allows you to write optimized content around any niche that you are promoting, and it also provides you with dofollow anchor text links in your content, which is the best kind of link you can get. The site is great because anyone can write a simple unique how-to guide and that means it doesn’t matter what your site is about, if you get a little creative you can build a link in the next 15 minutes.

With Instructables, you can also nominate your how-to articles for different awards/contests and get a lot more publicity by doing this, however I would not recommend it unless your article actually provides real value and you have put hours of time into it.

  2. Hi Collin. Nice one thank you.

Are there an optimimum amount of articles (and hence links) that one should aim for? Are ten better than one for example?

I could put up loads, but it’s all time. Just wondering how much effort is ‘best’ before it drains my time.

    Hope that makes sense.

BTW. I am now No.1 for my chosen optimised term on Google UK! Woohoo! Been no.5 or so for a couple of years. With thanks to you and your tips, as this has helped a good deal. All honest stuff on my part too.

    Nick

  4. There really isn’t a “set number.” Obviously the more you post the more links you will get. You should do at least 1 minimum and then think about adding one here and there when you have some free time.

  12. what’s the right number of article directories to submit your article to ? should you submit it to a bunch of them, or just pick one very good one and that’s it ? thanks.

  26. Hello, it’s looks like a b2c site, not like a link building site, how to link exchange with others?

  28. The links in instructables are no-follow. The links you can post in “Answers” art however are still dofollow.
