Link Building with UQ Events

This is a an email that I received from Frank (their PR guy) and I thought it deserved to be posted.

Hi Collin,

I’ve been reading your blog for almost a year now and I’ve used quite a few of your tips, which have all been very useful.

I wanted to drop you a line to make a shameless plug for using link building strategies with UQ Events. UQ Events is a social-networking site for events, where users can create free profiles and post an unlimited number of events. The domain has been registered for a few years now and holds a Page Rank 4 status.

Once you have signed up for a profile (check your junk for the activation email), you will be able to edit your contact information in order to add a dofollow web link to your own website. After your profile has been set up you will be able to post events that you are promoting or hosting in your city. Every event you post (each with a unique URL) will have a contact info section where you can also add a dofollow link.

UQ Events has generated a lot of authority over the past while, and is an excellent site for legitimately driving traffic to your website by republishing your event information, or by setting up a profile page for your organization, site or blog. The events and profiles on the site will rank quite quickly through Google, and your profile will rank more quickly if you post at least one event.

  2. Awesome post Frank! I check out the site personally and it has great indexing in the big G, tons of high quality backlinks and the quality is pretty high..so you guys keep a tight squeeze on that I’m assuming?

That’s key to keeping the site as powerful as it is and then some!

  4. Hi Ryan, I’m glad you like the site. Yes, we monitor our backlinks pretty closely, that way they remain high quality and provide the greatest benefit to our visitors and our users.

    Thanks!

  8. Hey, the Anchor Text link is not working in the UQ “Profile Page.”

When you create the link in the Bio box, it appears to be OK, but when you go to the Public profile page, the link is not properly displayed and instead you see the tags.
