Link Building with Footygoss
Hello readers of Collin LaHay’s link building blog, my name is Srihari and I am from India working as a link builder & love to share my knowledge with those that have helped me out at the same time. I am fan of Collin’s link building cookbook and regularly check the posts and update myself to build links to my sites. Today I am here because I wanted to submit a guest post to show all of you a new place to build a link.
Recently I visited one site called Footygoss that provides news for the AFL and the various state leagues, especially the WAFL. Footygoss vision is to become the leader in football news and information at all levels right across Australia.
As usual I registered there and discovered that this site allows you to create a free user profile. Once you registered their, visit the User Control Panel and you can edit your profile & add a pure html dofollow link in BIO Section.
This is a guest post submitted by Srihari who owns and operates a free web directory.

Thanks for the link. I just went to the site and got my free backlink from this page rank 4 website.
When I first discovered profile building and free links, I thought, “HURRAY!” But then I started to think that maybe it wasn’t such a great idea.
Why?
Yes, you can get free link from a high PR site. But it is likely that many of the sites you will exploit are entirely unrelated to your own website.
And although they may give you a boost in the short term, eventually they will start counting against you as the SE are able to determine this practice as a spammy trick.
If a website is related to your website, you are far better off building a profile and joining the conversation. Stay away from creating mass profiles on unrelated websites. I think they will only byte you in the butt.
This is actually not true, the WORST case scenario is the profiles Google finds if it makes new algorithyms is that it will make the link count for nothing (no pagerank passed). You can not be penalized for this ever, otherwise people would be spamming competitors links to get them purposefully penalized. This is not and will never be how search engines operate, so profiles are always a safe bet, and right now, they provide great SEO benefit.
amaizingg!! will help me start my soccer site
thanks for the post
Thanks for sharing the information to build links to sites..it was informative..
It’s a forum profile. I don’t think it will do any seo bonus as forum links form profile pages don’t do any seo profit.
Collin, you are right, but I’m afraid of google lowering site’s trust for mass spamming of profiles. Some SE like yandex.ru do pessimize site’s positions for spamming in profiles.
What do you think about losing trust because using spam methods?
Well I have not had a single visitor from yandex.ru as far as I know. Search engines cannot reduce trust from domains because of spam methods because it is a lot easier to make your competitors look spammy than to make yourself look authoritative, otherwise people would buy the $500 Xrumer spamming software and promote all their competitors and get them all banned. Search engines don’t work that way and only discredit those spammy links, not penalize the authoritative domain.
Thanks for the informative guest post Srihari. I’m a new webmaster (never thought of myself that way before) and learning all the time. Hopefully I can build my search engine ranking for my innovativepassiveincome.com brand.
I know alot of successful internet marketers who have had good serp results with profile links, and there are services which offer to do the linking for you for quite cheap rates. The problem with profile links though, is that they’re very difficult to get indexed. I usually only see about 20% of mine get indexed, and i’ve tried pinging them, making rss feeds and even bookmarking them. They generally just don’t contain enough unique content to get indexed.
It may be tough to spam your competitors, buts easy to make them rank for some thing they do not want, instead of something they want.
Thanks for the link and for sharing the information to build links to sites..it was informative
it is really nice link building,i know how to become success seo, thank you so much.
As long as you DON’T link to spammy sites, it doesn’t matter. SE won’t penalized you if spammy sites link to you.
