Uber Link Building

As many of you have probably already noticed, I have redirected CollinLaHay.com to UberLinkBuilding.com. The switch will take a few weeks for all of the pages to adjust on the search engines, as well as the new wordpress theme to be configured.

There are a lot of reasons why I have switched the domain name to this blog, but the biggest reasons are that I wanted to:

1.) Making It Official

  • Previously this was a one-man show of mine (Collin LaHay), but it is time to expand. Jeremy Quinn, another link building consultant and good friend of mine has jumped aboard Uber Link Building as well.

2.) Increase Website Traffic

  • Much to my surprise when I first changed my blog’s name to CollinLahay.com, my name is a lot harder to spell than I figured it was, as about 20% of my traffic were going to many typo-variations of my name. One fifth of my traffic volume typing the wrong thing is a big problem. Another way changing the domain will increase traffic is by having my keyword (link building) in the URL, as the search engines give a little extra benefit to sites with that, so that certainly will help for longtail keywords.

3.) More Focus

  • When I originally started this blog in November of 2007, I wanted to focus on many different types of website marketing techniques, and have become a blog focused primarily on websites that can be used for link building, as this is a niche that not many people can cover.

Why Uber?

  • It is short, easily remembered, and it works as an adjective for “superior,” something that our blog aims to be over all the other SEO blogs when it comes to link building.

What can we look forward to?

  • More free link building posts, soon a more simpler blog design that is easier to navigate, as well as the ability to hire us as link building consultants for your company.

  2. Hey,

I appreciate all your sharing, and like your new site.

If it’s not too time consuming, could you tell me how you determine:

“about 20% of my traffic were going to many typo-variations of my name. One fifth of my traffic volume typing the wrong thing is a big problem. ” ?

    Thanks for everything,

    Todd

  4. Because I own colinlahay.com, collinlehay.com, colinlehay.com, and the such, and also because when I receive contact form messages, my script includes their original referrer and I can see a lot of people come from Google searches of my name spelled incorrectly.
